Heaton Mosque and Islamic Centre provides access to religious guidance, Quranic study and recitations, congregations for daily Salah prayers and other Islamic facilities in Newcastle upon Tyne. The mosque congregates for five daily prayers on each day and accommodates big gathering for Juma Salah every Friday. Please see prayer times on our home page. The mosque has access to multiple prayer halls and ablutions facilities for both brothers and sisters.
Moreover, the mosque also hosts a library on site with a varied book collection including general and Islamic history, Quranic interpretations and a variety of Fiqah and Hadeeth books. We also offer Islamic and spiritual guidance, Quranic interpretations and teachings of Sharia in accordance with Islamic jurisprudence.
Quranic classes are held every weekday in the evenings to teach Quran to the children of our local community lasting 2 hours each session from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
We at Heaton mosque and Islamic centre encourage all our Muslim brothers and sisters to devote time aside to study Quran with translation and interpretation in both Urdu and English to understand the real essence of God’s message and to act upon this on our daily life to be the best person following the teachings of Qurans and Sunnah of our beloved Prophet(pbuh).
Heaton mosque also provides funeral services for the deceased including the ‘gusal-e-mayyit’ and making arrangement with local crematorium to allocate space for the corpses.
We also run events each year in the mosque for our local Muslim community including Eid Milad-un-Nabi and Rabi-ul-Awal where we invite Islamic Scholars from around the country and abroad to lighten up the hearts and souls of our community’s brethren and sisters by the teachings of the Quran, the Sunnah and Hadeeth of the prophet and around the life of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The mosque also hosts a full working kitchen on site where mosque committee arranges meals for these events together with the help of our members of community. Other programmes are also arranged throughout the year in Muharram and Giyaarwee’n shareef and Mehfil-e-Zikar is venerated every Thursday.
